About Tom Lauda

From High-Speed Auto Racing to Dynamic Corporate Coaching

  • Tom Lauda began a career in motorracing at age 19 and soon moved to England, the Mecca of racing. He was hired by Motor Racing Stables, then the world's leading motor racing school, to teach aspiring drivers how to break through their limitations and upgrade their performance. Earlier experiences of Tom Lauda (born in Vienna/Austria in 1955) included amateur ski racing and serving in the Austrian mountain infantry (reserve officer). He completed his studies of law (Universities of Vienna and Salzburg) in 1981 with a doctorate. Later Tom Lauda studied applied work psychology in the U.S.
  • After working for a world-leading global bank and a European-Saudi Arabian joint venture, Tom Lauda started to apply his accumulated knowledge as problem solver and advisor to corporate leadership teams in 1986. In the years to follow he developed proprietary methodologies for building dynamic interaction in leadership circles and for generating well-rounded high-performance in individual leaders.
  • Over the last two decades Lauda has advised both European and American organizations in his field of expertise. His clients include Allianz, Bertelsmann, British Telecom, Heidrick & Struggles, HP, Hitachi Data Systems, McKinsey & Company, Siemens und Zurich Financial Services; as well as many mid-sized organizations like Artemed, Clyde Blowers, Enigma and Swarovski Optik.
  • Since the 1990's Lauda has taught at various business schools (like the University of St. Gallen and UCLA) in Europe and the United States where he has spent nearly half his professional life. A dynamic presenter, Lauda has been an invited speaker at the United Nations, the International Management Symposium and the World Business Dialogue.
